Hello!
Thank you for visiting AI Proem. I’m Grace, and I write about the evolving landscape of AI and tech. My primary research and writing focus is on understanding the relationship between AI and energy resources, AI and societal impacts, AI innovation and its business implications, and China’s AI and tech sectors and their relationship with the rest of the world.

To learn more about why I started AI Proem, go here.
I grew up in Canada, frequently relocating throughout my formative years. Following university, I was drawn to Asia to learn more about my heritage—a rewarding journey that led me through Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, and (New York), ultimately, Hong Kong. For many years, I've been driven by the mission to build bridges between my two worlds, telling stories of business and technological innovation through the nuanced lens of cultural understanding and geopolitical context.
I started my career covering tech in Asia for various international publications. My reports and writing have been published in Fortune, FT, CNBC, EIU (Economist), The Diplomat, Diplomat Risk Intelligence, Yahoo Finance, USA Today, and many more.
Then, I worked for/ consulted for multiple big tech companies, including Alibaba, PayPal, Kuaishou, Lenovo, and others.
Today, I am the founder of AI Proem, where I deliver reports and analyses on AI and its intersections with energy, innovation, and society, with emphasis on China's AI landscape and China-US dynamics.
Thus, I often apply my experience in big tech strategy and journalistic investigative skills to my research and analysis. As I learn new topics, I always try to include my train (chain) of thought (and reasoning ;p) so that you can follow along.
